Coastal marshlands play a critical role in the broader coastal ecosystem. Additionally sea level rise is having a dramatic adverse effect on habitats and wildlife in these marshlands over time. Since 2019 we have been working with researchers at the University of Connecticut to collect LiDAR data accurate enough to help validate novel sediment restoration techniques. If successful these techniques could be deploy at large scale to preserve the at risk habitats on our coast lines.
