Who are we?

Founded in 2016 by geospatial industry veterans Christine Heinrich and Matthew Clark, Whiteout Solutions is a Vermont-based geospatial technology company specializing in remote sensing, LiDAR, geospatial analytics, and software development.

Prior to founding Whiteout Solutions, Christine and Matthew helped build microDATA GIS Inc. (officially known as microDATA) a software and data services company that was based in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, specializing in map-centric, Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) public safety systems. Founded in 1983, the company provides software development and database maintenance for Automatic Location Identification (ALI) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Today, Christine and Matthew each bring over 25 years of experience to Whiteout’s operations, blending deep industry knowledge with a forward-thinking approach to geospatial technology.

From its inception, Whiteout has focused on developing both remote sensing solutions and the software required to unlock the full value of geospatial data. The company specializes in high-precision LiDAR systems capable of achieving spatial accuracies greater than 2 centimeters and has developed thousands of proprietary processing routines designed to transform complex datasets into meaningful insights.

Whiteout’s technologies support a wide range of applications, including but not limited to environmental sciences, infrastructure assessment, municipal asset inventories, utility vegetation management, coastal analysis and much more. Proprietary tools developed by Whiteout include tree species identification, stem detection, biomass analysis, utility encroachment analysis, lithologic surface analysis, coastal sediment modeling and of course, geoSAP.

These capabilities are delivered through geoSAP, Whiteout’s cloud-based geospatial processing platform. geoSAP automates complex workflows, accelerates processing through scalable cloud computing, and enables users to visualize, share, analyze, and download deliverables through a single platform. By combining advanced software with decades of geospatial expertise, Whiteout helps organizations transform data into actionable intelligence and make better decisions about the environments and infrastructure they manage.
